Kathy Thomander's new move

Here's the latest from us:

We are here in Colorado Springs now and we love it! We moved into our house on June 6th (renting) and we got a lot of help from our new ward. It is a two-story 3 bedroom 2 ½ bath with a decent backyard. We will send pics soon.

Dave was lucky enough to get a full week off to get settled even though normally a week is given to go "house hunting". He's put in a full week now and has already ran over 7 miles (and still getting acclimated to the 6500+ ft elevation). He has been running around the CE squadron without a job in particular yet but today found out that he will be in the Readiness flight (more details to come but basically deals with preparedness and training in the event of an emergency, etc.).

Kathy's brother Michael and his wife Ruth and son Jacob live not too far away and we've gotten together a lot already and love being close to family for a change. The ward has a lot of fun activities for their play groups. She is doing a great job decorating the house and getting everything settled and organized. She (and Dave) miss our friends in Moscow a lot but we're excited for new friends and for keeping in touch with everybody!

Kayla is having fun playing in our new house and backyard. There is a brand new – HUGE- playground close by so that is convenient and fun. So far she has adjusted very well. She loves playing with her cousin Jacob and we're excited to get together with Dave's sister Rachel and their kids (they live in Denver and their youngest is Kayla's age). She loves the primary at church even though she was really shy when we first dropped her off; she excitedly told us all about it after church was over.
